i bought this album cause i loved push the little daisies and i was very upset when i listened to the album once i got home. totally wasnt what i expected but like 2 years later i found myself coming back to this masterpiece time and time again

I grew up listening to these Shellac records man. This one hurts. Steve was always true to the end. A real fucking man.

Steve Albini, I'll miss you in this world, this guy represented with his lyrics the dark side of the american life, as soon as I knew that James O' Barr really digged Big Black when he was creating The Crow visual novel, I started checking Big Black and it really opened my eyes, and ears when it came to the American reality, I'm saddened that I will never see him play live, but as a whole,I really think we lost a great human.

This album helped me through a divorce. Not the same situation as yours, but similar feelings. Thanks Steve! RIP!

Im going through quite a horrible time in my life rn and finding out Steve has passed adds more heartache to my life, shellac and big black were tremendously important to my teenage/young adult life. This hurts

RIP Steve Albini. An alltime musical hero from the day I bought Big Black's Songs About Fucking on vinly when I was 16. I am now 50 and still have that record. Only the other day I was talking to my 16 year old about him and his production work with Pixies and Nirvana. Tweez sounds better than Spiderland. Gutted.

RIP Steve. Thanks for helping alternative / indie bands to find their own non commercial sound. As an old Nirvana fan i appreciate your work for the "in utero" album. Sad that Geffen records couldn't accept your creative work (not commercial enough). I saw Shellac on tour at Backstage (Munich). What a energy and rough sound on stage. I liked steves powerful body language and his screams. My heart is bleeding.
